Practices
Practices run May 26th - July 6th. For the most part, barring misc pool events and bad weather, practice is offered Monday - Friday at the Savannah Aquatic Center. Swimmers are not required to attend all practices, but it is strongly encouraged.
Below is our age group breakdown ESTIMATION. There may be a bit of group shifting if it makes sense once registrations come in. Our goal is to keep groups as even as possible.
Session 1 7:45-9:00- All 13-18 year olds
Session 2 8:45-10:00- All 11-12 year olds & 9-10 year old BOYS
Session 3 9:45-11:00- All 7-8 year olds & 9-10 year old GIRLS
6Us will be divided up and will practice for 1/2 hour each day. 6U groups will be slotted during session 2. You will receive your session assignment following evaluations (April 21 & 22). Evaluation signups are under Meets and Events - Signup Calendar.
Equipment Needed: Kids need to have a suit (girls need a one piece and boys are encouraged to wear jammers). They also need goggles and a cap. A cap is included in your registration price. Suits and other fun caps can be purchased at www.swimoutlet.com. . Finally, kids should bring a towel. Until it warms up, sweats and extra towels are a good idea as well. Practice Cancellations: If practice needs to be canceled due to weather, I will post a notification. You can get these posts pushed to your phone by downloading the Swimtopia app.
It is NOT necessary for parents to stay for practices, but you need to be on time for pick up. If you do opt to stay, please do NOT interfere with practice or try to coach your child from the deck.
Finally, siblings NOT on swim team are NOT allowed to be in or near the pool. We do not have guards to watch the mushroom area. We are required by pool administration to strictly follow this rule.
